Relda Marie Greenhalgh"Hi. My name is Relda Marie. I'm a singer/songwriter, entertainer and farmer."
About MeI've been farming since I could put on a pair of Red Bands and follow my parents out the door and, recently, I celebrated 20 years in the music industry. My sisters, brother and I were raised on our parents' hill country farm on the west coast of the North Island of New Zealand. We were taught to ride horses, crack a stock-whip, muster cattle, shear sheep and skin possums. My MusicI have been writing songs and poetry since I could pick up a pen. Although I'm not rich and famous, I am an internationally published composer. A Celtic piece I wrote called 'Winds of my Heart' was recorded by guitarist Gray Bartlett. Another song which I wrote called 'A Good Old Kiwi Stock Horse' was recorded by John Hore Grennell. But the accomplishment I am most proud of is a children's song I wrote called 'The Opossum Song' which was recently put on the New Zealand Schools song playlist. I believe we live in a beautiful and inspirational country and through my songs and music I want to help celebrate some of the things that make us uniquely New Zealanders. 'Moerangi Music' is a collection of 20 easy listening songs that feature typically Kiwi country themes. To make an enquiry click on my album artwork. Moerangi Multis - The Breed
My grandmother's cousins, two lovely ladies running their own Romney sheep stud, bought Romney/Booroola cross rams in the late 1980s and put them over their ewes. They bred a line of ewes capable of having 4, 5 and, on rare occasions, up to 6 lambs at one time. They're also bred for good mothering and milking traits, eczema and parasite resistance and their good wool. Although multiple lambs cannot be guaranteed the multi gene has remained strong in the line and our high producing ewes regularly have 3, 4 or 5 lambs per season. the lambs are generally smaller, easy birthing but grow well. I leave the ewe rearing 2 or 3 of their lambs and bottle feed the extras. Born mid-June to the end of July we start picking fats at the beginning of November. I believe they are an animal ideally suited to lifestyle or small block farms. Contact Me This is our 3rd season since taking over the line and for the first time we will have a small amount of surplus stock for sale. For all enquiries please contact me by email by clicking here. Due to the remote nature of our location it may take a few days for me to reply. Please be patient as I will endeavour to respond to all emails ASAP.
